-Small repairs can be carried out in situ if the panel is sound. -However if it is weak and distorted, and rattles, the panel has to be removed and temporarily replaced with glass, (laminated or toughened for a door), or with plywood. -The panel is then brought back to the studio, where it is measured, photographed, and a rubbing taken of it before it is dismantled. -The glass is then cleaned and any missing or broken glass is matched as closely as possible. -Any painted and stained pieces that are damaged can be repainted and fired to match the original. -The panel is then re-leaded and cemented, and when cured ready for fitting.
